About Course

In the CodeCombat Ozaria camp, students are the heroes of their own epic journeys. Using an immersive and engaging fantasy story, students learn the basics of the Python programming language — from loops, to functions, to variables and beyond. Students will have to think critically to complete challenges and advance on their quests. Ultimately, campers will use what they’ve learned to design and code their own capstone video game.

MONDAY – ALGORITHMS AND PROBLEM SOLVING
In today's lessons, campers will get started on the CodeCombat Ozaria platform. They will begin to learn the basics of algorithms and how to break problems down into series of smaller steps.

TUESDAY – DEBUGGING AND TROUBLESHOOTING
In today's lessons, campers will learn about the types of errors which can occur and how to "debug" their code.

WEDNESDAY – LOOPS AND CAPSTONE PROJECT INTRO
In today's lesson, campers will learn about an important programming structure: loops. They'll also be introduced to the course's capstone project - a custom Ozaria game.

THURSDAY – CAPSTONE GAME DESIGN
In today's lesson, campers will work on building their capstone games in Ozaria.

FRIDAY – CAPSTONE GAME EXHIBITION AND FEEDBACK
In today's lesson, campers will exhibit their games to other students. Students will give and receive constructive feedback on their games.
