We’re excited to announce our newest robotics camp featuring the cutting-edge LEGO Spike Prime robotics platform. Used in classrooms and robotics competitions worldwide, LEGO Spike Prime is the current gold standard for educational robotics. Whether your child is looking to engage with robotics as a hobby, to gain an edge in STEM-related schoolwork, or is an aspiring robotic-team competitor, our fun, low-stress camps are the perfect environment to spark a life-long passion for robotics!

What Will You Learn?

  • Learn about the robotic motors and sensors included in the LEGO Spike Prime Kit.
  • Build robotic Driving Bases and add various sensors to it to influence how the robot responds to its surroundings.
  • Write code to control how the robot turns, responds to obstacles, moves objects, and follows lines.

MONDAY – INTRODUCTION TO LEGO SPIKE PRIME
In today's lessons, campers will build the first Driving Base robot. They'll be introduced to the LEGO Spike Prime App, and will learn to connect their robot to the app and to download programs to the robot hub. Students are tasked with making their robot drive in a square.

TUESDAY – RELAY RACE
In today's lessons, campers will add a distance sensor and a touch sensor to their Driving Base robots. Campers will program a relay race using the robot's distance sensor and variables in their code.

WEDNESDAY – THE FORCE OR TOUCH SENSOR
In today's lesson, students will code their robots to turn and move in the opposite direction when the force or touch sensor is pressed. Students will have to decide how much the robot has to turn (in degrees) and will have to decide to accomplish this task either by coding motor rotations or using the hub's internal yaw sensor.

THURSDAY – FOLLOW A LINE WITH THE COLOR SENSOR
In today's lessons, students will attach a color sensor to their Driving Base (Driving Base 03). They will learn how the color sensor works and they will be tasked with coding a line-following robot. Students will create code so the driving base will follow a black line.

FRIDAY – PROPORTIONAL LINE FOLLOWER AT JUNCTIONS
In today's lessons, students are given a challenge which may require a more advanced line follower which can count line junctions. Teams can customize their robots to complete the challenges.
