About Course

Take to the skies with our STEM-specific educational drones! Campers will master the physics principles which make drone flight possible, and will also gain coding skills as they program their drone’s flight paths to complete a series of challenges. Using a safety-first approach, students will learn how to pilot their drones responsibly, and will collaborate with members of their flight team to complete each mission using a mixture of critical thinking and creativity.

  • It requires practice to be an expert drone pilot.

MONDAY – INTRODUCTION TO AIR:BIT DRONES AND GEO-FS FLIGHT SIMULATOR
In today's lessons, campers are introduced to the Air:Bit Drone and the GeoFS online Flight Simulator. Drone Safety and the Drone Pre-Flight Checklist are covered. Monday's Flight Simulator Challenge is: Takeoff, and Monday's Drone Challenge is: Arming and Disarming.

TUESDAY – PRINCIPLES OF FLIGHT
In this section, more flight principles are presented using the PARTY acrostic. Tuesday's Flight Simulator Challenge is: Landing At An Airport, and Tuesday's Drone Challenge is: Liftoff.

WEDNESDAY – DRONE PRACTICE
Wednesday's Flight Simulator Challenge is: Flying A Helicopter, and Tuesday's Drone Challenge is: Flight Practice.

THURSDAY – DRONE OBSTACLES
Thursday's Flight Simulator Challenge is: New Aircraft, and Thursday's Drone Challenge is: Obstacles and Landing Pads.

FRIDAY – FREE PLAY AND PRACTICE
Friday's Flight Simulator Challenge is: Free Play, and Friday's Drone Challenge is: Final Drone Practice.
