About Course

Art and science unite in Colorful Chemistry Camp! Using a series of fun, hands-on experiments, campers will explore the scientific and chemical basis of the world around them. The youngsters will explore colors, fluids, nature, and chemical reactions as they are taught how to ask questions and find answers like a scientist – the basis of the scientific method. The Colorful Chemistry Camp makes science fun through playful and creative experimentation.

What Will You Learn?

  • Learn about primary and secondary colors.
  • Mix inks to create a rainbow of colors, tints, and shades.
  • Learn about polymers, chemical reactions, and the physical properties of various substances.
  • Create colorful artwork, oobleck, and slime.

MONDAY – INTRODUCTION TO COLORS
In today's lessons, campers are introduced to primary and secondary colors. They'll mix inks and paint with the inks they create.

TUESDAY – VOLCANOES AND GLOW WORMS
In today's lessons, campers will create colorful volcanoes and glow worms.

WEDNESDAY – INK MIXING AND PROPERTIES
In today's lessons, campers will mix more inks and create more works of art.

THURSDAY – MAKING PAINT AND OOBLECK
In today's lessons, campers will create paint, a liquid canvas, and a colorful quicksand also known as Oobleck.

FRIDAY – MAKING SLIME
In today's lessons, campers will make slime.
