About Course

Learn to make stop-motion videos with the LEGO® pieces kids already love! This updated version of our stop-motion course covers all of the skills and tricks needed to produce expert-level stop motion videos. Campers will first learn the basics of stop motion movement. Then, they’ll learn how to add faces, dialog, and sound effects. Ultimately, they’ll learn how to make characters and objects defy gravity. At the end of camp, we’ll have a film festival and each student will have their own LEGO® stop-motion video to share with family and friends!

MONDAY – GETTING STARTED
In this section, students will learn what stop-motion animation is. They'll configure their stop-motion setups and learn how to avoid some of the most common beginner mistakes.

TUESDAY – STOP-MOTION BASICS
In this section, students will generate ideas for their stop-motion videos, and will learn how to simulate walking and speaking for their LEGO minifigures.

WEDNESDAY – ADVANCED STOP-MOTION TECHNIQUES
In this section, students will learn some advanced stop-motion animation techniques including, backgrounds, credits, and defying gravity.

THURSDAY – REVERSE ENGINEERING STOP-MOTION VIDEOS
In this section, students will learn how to use YouTube to research and reverse engineer some of the coolest stop-motion effects.

FRIDAY – STOP-MOTION WRAP UP
In this section, students will learn how to export their stop-motion movies to MP4 videos they can share with family and friends.
