About Course

The only limitation is your imagination! Roblox offers a streamlined approach to multiplayer video game design by giving campers creative assistance at every step of the process. They’ll figure out just how much work goes into making their favorite games, like Fortnite and Minecraft, and have the opportunity to replicate them with their own twists. Our instructors are equipped with new and improved curriculum to guide all campers through the functions and features of the platform. Give your child a taste of real-world game design experience with Roblox!

  • How create and place objects in a custom Roblox game
  • How to use the Lua programming language to respond to in-game events
  • How to use code to add randomness to a custom Roblox game

Course Content

INSTRUCTOR BRIEFING
This section is designed to get instructors up to speed on the credentials they'll need for the camp, lesson plans and camp objectives, and tips to make running the camp easier.

MONDAY – GETTING STARTED
In this section, students will learn Roblox controls and how to place objects in their Roblox games.

TUESDAY – CODING ROBLOX EVENTS
In this section, students will learn how to make something happen in response to an in-game event.

WEDNESDAY – CREATING A TRAP
In this section, students will learn how to make a random platform a "kill block" in Roblox - a block which destroys the player when touched.

THURSDAY – ADDITIONAL ROBLOX TUTORIALS
Roblox offers several online tutorials for beginner Roblox game developers. Students can examine the tutorials and implement more functionality into their games.

FRIDAY – WRAP UP
In this section, students will wrap up their custom Roblox "Obby" game.
